This was a short hike because it was so HOT! The total distance was only two miles. After only one mile everyone was soaked with perspiration and it was decided to go back. No rating today because normally this is an easy hike, but not today. If you would like to see a few pictures of very tired hikers, click here or on the Elsi Holmes tab above.

This hike was 9.2 miles at Roaring Creek (part of the Cumberland Trail). The hike is
rated as strenuous.
There were three hikers today Gary, Boodiee, and John. We hiked to Gilbreath Creek, ate lunch, and returned to the trail head. The only wildlife we saw besides a few birds was a small box turtle.
The weather today was calm and muggy. Views from the overlooks were limited due to the hazy conditions.
