Weekly Trials and Tribulations of the Scenic City Chapter of the TTA
Weekly Trials. Tribulations and Photos experienced while hiking
4.24.12 Nance Jo, Barbara, Nancy, Renee, Patrick, Earl Perfect day for a hike, cool and sunny. We actually hiked two trails at Enterprise South. The first trail was the Black Forest Mtn. Bike Trail. This trail was suppose to be 3.0 miles, but somehow we got crossed up on the trails and got back to the cars after only 2 miles. We still aren't sure where we went wrong as we tried to follow the map. Then we decided to hike the Log Rhythm Mtn. Bike Trail. This time we were much more successful and hiked the entire 2.6 miles. We did a lot of backtracking and also a short loop trail at lunch so I guess we covered about 5 miles total. The most exciting part was the capture of a large rat snake. It was about 5 feet long. Since it was cool, it was quite sluggish and allowed us to pick it up. I believe it was female from the shape of its tail. For some reason, some hikers seemed to disappear while we handled the snake? Anyway, we all had a good time. I would rate the trail as easy. If you would like to see a few pictures of the hike, click here or on the Enterprise tab above.
