Weekly Trials and Tribulations of the Scenic City Chapter of the TTA

Weekly Trials. Tribulations and Photos experienced while hiking

Roaring Creek

4.19.13   Roaring Creek.  There were 17 hikers on this hike!  This was a pretty difficult hike, I would rate it as moderate-severe with the emphasis on severe.  Everyone made the hike and enjoyed the overlook.  The return walk was downhill and everyone really enjoyed the break.  The weather held and everyone returned safe and sound.  To see some pictures of the hikers, click on the Roaring Creek tab above.
4.2.13  On this hike there were 14 hikers!  It was a little cool, but everyone had an excellent hike.  I would rate this hike as easy.  To see a few pictures of the hikers click on the Enterprise South tab above.
4.6.13   Beautiful day for a hike. Hikers were Bob, Joan, Boodie, Rick, and John. Hiking with us were Selma and Doug from the Plateau Chapter. Hike was strenuous and 9.7 miles in length, but everyone made it successfully.  To see a couple of pictures from the hike click on the Heiss Mountain tab above.

Ladies Day

4.5.13  Donna, Kathy, Renee, Nancy, Gail, Nance Jo, and Renee’s dog Niki hiked at Fall Creek Falls Friday, April 5th, on the Gilbert Gaul trail. The sky was cloudy during the drive to the park but, by the time we reached the lake, the sky was blue and the sun bright. The trail was nicely marked with new signs and the leaves had been raked recently. The trail distance was approximately 4.2 miles and is easy with only one climb. Counter clockwise is the better direction to take. Afterwards, we navigated to the ‘Cookie Jar Cafe’ in Dunlap with the help of Kathy’s phone and Molly voice.  To see a couple more pictures, click on the Ladies Day tab above.
