Weekly Trials. Tribulations and Photos experienced while hiking
National Trails Day
6.1.13 National Trails Day at Greenway Farms. We had a good turn out of hiking club members but not a very good customer turnout. Everyone had a good time despite a couple of light showers. There was food, snacks and drinks for everyone, including the ants. Not much wildlife was seen, but a butterfly did seem to like something on one of the stands and it kindly allow me to photograph it. George and Nancy Jo led some hikes on the trails. For a few pictures click on the National Trails day tab above.
Heiss Mtn.
There were nine hikers on the trail today. Three of them had never hiked this trail before. It was a beautiful day with lots of water in the streams. The distance was approximately 3 miles and I would rate it as moderate. Everyone had a good time. If you would like to see a few pictures click on the Heiss Mtn. tab above. After the hike some of the hikers got together and went and bought strawberries.
Flipper Bend 5.25.13
There were ten hikers on this Flipper Bend hike. It was a beautiful day with the views from the overlook being absolutely stunning. The distance of this hike was ten miles. Lunch was enjoyed at "The Big Rock". I would rate this hike as moderate. If you would like to see a few pictures, click on the Flipper Bend tab above.
