Mowbray Pike to Sluder Lane

1.6.15  Today's hike was 5 miles on the Cumberland Trail starting at the Mowbray Rd trailhead and ending at the Sluder Lane parking area. It was cool, but otherwise it was a perfect sunny day for hiking.  The nine hikers were Nancy, Kathy, Lewis, Don, George, Sarah, Donna, Ed and John.  I would rate the hike as moderate.  After the hike everyone enjoyed a meal at a local Soddy Daisy restaurant.  For a few pictures, click here or on the Mowbray tab above.

Little River 1.3.15

There were only three hikers on this difficult hike.  The trail is 15 miles long but today the hikers only went in 1.5 miles and then turned around and hiked back out.  It took three hours for the tough trip.  By looking at the pictures you can see that the conditions were not good.  If you would like to see a bunch of pictures, click here or on the Little River tab above.
