Weekly Trials and Tribulations of the Scenic City Chapter of the TTA
Weekly Trials. Tribulations and Photos experienced while hiking
Enterprise South
2.12.13 Today there were 9 hikers, all from the Soddy Daisy Chapter of the TTA. The morning started out crisp and clear. There was the usual difficulty in deciding what to wear. You don't want to get cold and yet at the same time you don't want to wear too much. We started off the hike in what was to be about 4 miles in length. There were a few other people on the trails, some with children and dogs. All went well until we reached the Hidden Lake area. There we zigged instead of zagged. A left was made instead of a right and vice versa. We soon realized that we were going in loops with no hope of rescue. Luckily we had our trusty GPS's and in no time we were again on the right trail. After the hike we enjoyed a good meal at the City Cafe. All in all it was a great morning. We hiked a total of 6.9 miles. I would rate this hike as easy to moderate. For a few pictures, click on the Enterprise South tab above.
Chickamauga Creek
2.9.13 Chickamauga Creek George, Sarah, Gail, Nancy, Joan, Nance Jo, Bob & John This was a great day for a hike. A little chilly but not to bad. The overlook was worth the hike as can be seen in the pictures. Total distance for this hike was 5 miles. I would rate this hike as moderate.
