Weekly Trials. Tribulations and Photos experienced while hiking

Harrison Bay SP

11.12.13  There were 7 hikers on this cold blustery day.  It was very windy and branches were falling, but no rain.  We did see seven deer at different locations.  Two deer ran down the mountain to the lake and then ran back up giving us a good view.  We did have a very nice lunch afterward and left with full tummies.  The length of this hike was 4.5 miles and I would rate it easy.  If you would like to see a few pictures, click here.

Stringers Ridge

11.5.13  What a perfect day for a hike in a new downtown park.  Everyone enjoyed todays hike since the weather was nearly perfect.  The distance was about 4.5 miles and I would rate the hike as easy.  Many thanks go out to those who worked so hard at completing this park.  For a few pictures of the park click here.

Cloudland Canyon

11.2.13    An absolutely beautiful day for a hike.  Todays hike had a total of 13 hikers.  Cloudland Canyon is the favorite hiking spot of many of the hikers.  The trees were just turning making for a beautiful hike.  To see a bunch of pictures, click on the picture to the right.

Greenway Farms 10.29.13

Today we had 11 hikers.  It was a great day for a hike.  Slightly overcast, but the weather warmed up nicely.  It was probably in the mid 60s when we were hiking.  The only wildlife seen was one slightly disturbed Eastern Box Turtle.  I would rate this 5.5 mile hike as moderate.  Sorry, but there is only one picture this time.

Snow Falls

10.19.13  Snow Falls    Jane, Boodie, Carolyn and George.  This hike took place on an absolutely beautiful day.  There was a nice breeze and the temperature was just right for a hike.  Unfortunately, there was very little water in the creek.  The group met lots of hikers on the way back from the falls.  I would rate this 5 mile hike as moderate.
